Naser Al Tamimi
CEO
The CEO leading the REPs UAE team holds a PHD in Sports Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and is one of the UAE’s most iconic athletes, carrying in his backpack over 30 years of Sports Management and Athlete expertise in an array of sports fields, with a specialisation in Basketball. In 1999 Nasser launched the first commercial Health Club in Abu Dhabi – The Abu Dhabi Health and Fitness Club, the first Club in the Middle East to introduce Les Mills pre-choreographed group fitness classes. Mr. Al Tamimi was instrumental in introducing Judo and Wrestling to UAE Schools as well as Clubs and to date is a board member of the UAE WJ Federation, International Judo Federation and on the board of the National Olympic Committee. Catherine Hanson Farid
Director of Operations
Catherine Hanson Farid is the Director of Operations for REPs UAE, Chair of ICREPs, and Chair of the Dubai Fitness & Wellness Business Group, with over 35 years of experience across the UK, Australia, and the UAE. Based in the UAE since 1995, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s fitness and wellness landscape.
Catherine is known for her commitment to elevating professional standards and industry credibility. In 1999, she introduced Les Mills programmes to the UAE, and in 2013, she supported the establishment of REPs UAE, creating a benchmark for competence and public trust.
In 2023, she launched the REPs Industry Awards, recognising excellence across the sector. As Chair of ICREPs, she champions global collaboration, portability of registration, and international standards.
Through her leadership of the Dubai Fitness & Wellness Business Group, she works closely with government and industry to support growth and position the sector as a key contributor to Dubai’s development.
Ben Gittus
Technical Director
Ben is responsible for the register levels, categories, standards and qualification systems and has been instrumental in the setup of REPs in the UAE. From the UK, Ben holds a Master degree in Sports Development and has been involved in fitness education and registers for many years. Ben has worked in the UK supporting REPs UK and has played a role in the development of the International Confederation of Registers of Exercise Professionals (ICREPs.) He now works in international sport and fitness consultancy through a company he runs with two colleagues from Europe–EOSE Services. Ben can be contacted at [email protected]
Pamela Sia
Membership and Marketing Coordinator
Pam is responsible for the registration and renewals of members and ensuring that they are completing continuing education every year. She is also the point of contact for trainers and fitness managers if they need assistance in renewing or if they have inquiries about their membership. Pam is the most IT savvy person in the REPs office and assists the team in various aspects from membership inquiries, marketing, social media and administration. Aura Lyn Gonzales
Office Coordinator
Aura is responsible in answering inquiries through emails, whatsapp, calls and walk-ins. She also acts as the receptionist and is the first point of contact in the office. In addition, she provides support for membership registrations, renewals and administrative work. Aura can be contacted on [email protected]
Angel Vick-Scally
PR and Marketing Executive
Angel is responsible for creating and executing marketing and PR strategies to enhance brand visibility. She manages all of our social media content, conducts industry research, supports event planning, and helps to develop partnerships. Angel can be contacted on [email protected]
